Literally… a majority of people buy land, try to find a builder, price up a bunch of options and ideas from modulars, to kits, to dome homes, geodesic homes, barndos, custom homes, pop-up box homes, tiny homes, etc and then try and put together some semblance of a budget without really know what they want to build or the actual cost.
You cannot even remotely begin to know what your project will cost until you know what your finishes are. You can’t know what your finishes are until you have plans (even our basic plans) knowing how big certain areas are that need to be finished.
The only thing a builder or anyone will be able to tell you about cost (even with our barndominium kits), is what it cost the last person to build their project. We guarantee you and the last person have different tastes in design and finishes.
A good design team will make the design fluid while working through the budgeting process. If you have set an appointment with us thinking we can give you a price for your project without knowing anything about it, please do not set the appointment because we can’t do that.
If your goal is to get an idea of budgets for projects and then move into a deposit to further your design and work through the budgeting process then please, by all means set that appointment and we are happy to help.
